                  Recently we were approached by a young lady names Samantha who wanted to raise money for CDK.  She has raised money every year for a charity, and this year she wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and their assistance dogs.  She raised over 4,000 dollars by selling taffee on ebay, and was able to make a huge difference in the life of a 17 year old woman with Ehlors-Danlos Syndrome.  She will be receiving her new service dog this week, and we are soooo happy for her!  You will be seeing more about both these young women in the coming weeks on the website as we write down their stories and make them available to you.  (Due to some internal changes, the website is moving a bit slow right now, so please bear with us)

This is the first entry of the Canines for Disabled Kids blog, and I want to start off by thanking all of you for visiting our website, and taking a look around.  We hope that you are finding everything you need, and if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to comment here and let us know what we can do to make this website more convenient for you.

Someone asked me recently what it was that we do here at CDK.  What makes us different from all the other organizations around the country who help people with the use of assistance dogs.  The basic answer to that question is all of you.  We were founded to help parents and children discover the use of assistance dogs for multiple disabilities, decide if it was the right tool for them, and then obtain a dog to help increase the independence of the child.  We are an educational resource, and spend many hours talking to parents, schools, and other community members who are interested in learning about the dogs, and how they...
