Charitable Donations are a great way to reduce your tax burden for the year, all while doing something great for those less fortunate. Canines for Disabled Kids (CDK) provides many options for giving, while providing plenty of time to get your gift in before the December 31st. We have a couple of restricted fund options to allow you to direct where your gift will be used.
General Fund – Donations made here are used where CDK needs them most when they arrive. They can be applied to the scholarship fund, educational fund, or whichever area of the organization is in the greatest need. Any donations without a noted restriction are placed in the general fund.
Education and Programs – Donations made here support the educational programs given in schools, civic groups and communities around the country. These programs expand the public’s understanding, awareness and acceptance of service dogs and the laws which affect them. These donations also support us in working with families who meet with us to determine if a service dog will increase their child’s independence and how to find the perfect one.
Scholarship Fund – Donations made here provide scholarships for children 18 and under to offset the training cost of their service dog. Scholarships are awarded quarterly. Hopefully we will be awarding 12 this January! To hear more about some of our scholarship recipients, please go to the “Our Impact” portion of our website.
